Happiness, or anger: which emotion intrigues you more?

This project explores why some people are drawn towards one over the other, as I believe that this attraction is shaped by one’s life experiences. Executed through the borrowing of stories from five friends as sitters, after interviewing them to understand their attraction towards one over the other, I attempted to capture them in that happy or angry state. However, there is undeniably a spectrum of other emotions lingering beneath the dominant one, and in understanding that no two persons respond to emotions in the same way, a myriad of portraits in response to these two emotions was born// Singapore

Light is a beautiful thing. In the absence of light, the tension created between highlights and shadows has the potential to create dynamic imagery.

I explore this theory in the settings of intricate European architecture At the same time, taking it one step further by placing a subject in these spaces to investigate if that changes how a viewer immediately perceives an image in this self portrait series// Europe
